(February 11, 2015 – Do you remember what you were doing 25 years ago?  I do.  On 12 February, 1990 I had been in New Hampshire for a little over a year.  My brother was visiting from New Jersey to go skiing.  We were sitting in a brew-pub watching the TV.  It was a historic day, for after 27 years  Nelson Mandela had been freed.   On December 5, 2013 Nelson Mandela passed away.  It was very early in my blog’s history and I had only a handful of followers.  I posted the following on December 5, 2013 as my tribute)


Regime change.  We all remember that phrase.  We remember how Americans mobilized behind that phrase and changed a regime.  The change in Iraq led to a bloody civil war that cost the lives of hundreds of thousands, some say over half a million people.
